Lavinia Stamps Challenge 12 - Add Some Flowers

Hi Everyone

I know it's been a while!  Can you believe that it is December already?  I guess the lights that have started to appear everywhere are a bit of a clue.  Anyway, another new challenge over at Lavinia Stamps and this month it's a good one - Add some Flowers.  So pop on over and have a look at the samples for inspiration and join in - wouldn't it be great to win £40 of Lavinia Stamps vouchers, what a great way to start 2015.

Here is my sample:

I have used the beautiful Celtic Dream die - Stag, it is just stunning.  The cut is so clean and precise and there are some lovely dies to chose from.  I used white glitter card for the die and backed it with a circle of black.  I used Swiss Dot embossing folder and to add a little bit of colour I added some red flowers.

Hope you like it.  Kx

Lavinia Stamps Challenge 10 - Autumn Colours

Hi All

Hope you enjoyed the lovely September weather but what a change now!  There is a definite autumnal feel now we are in October.

As usual, another month and another Lavinia Stamps Challenge, but first well done to Craftyfield for her lovely entry for September, a very worthy winner.

As you can see from the heading, this month's challenge is Autumn colours and here is my example:

I used a stencil and distress inks, for the background and used the lovely stamp "Large Owl" - isn't he gorgeous?  So lifelike as well.  I also used creeping vine and Fairy Shops 1.  I added die cut letters and some stickles to finish the card off.

Remember you can win a huge £40 worth of Lavinia stamps just by joining the Challenge - even if you do not have a blog as we accept e-mail entries as well.  Now the weather is getting colder, give it a go and join in - we look forward to seeing your entries.  Good luck!  Kx

Lavinia Stamps Challenge No 9 - Add Some Ribbon

Hi Everyone and welcome to another month's challenge at Lavinia Stamps.  First of all, many congratulations to Samantha Wade who has won the August Challenge prize - £40 worth of Lavinia Stamps and with all the new stamps that have recently been released she will be spoilt for choice!

Here is my sample for this month

I used the beautiful Giselle and zen leaf 2 and coloured the image with copics, adding stickles to the bubbles.  To continue the bubble theme I added a circle die cut and tied ribbon to two of the circles .  After embossing swiss dot and mounting on to a card I added the additional ribbon between the layers.  Hope this gives you some inspiration to join in the Challenge.

Remember there is a fantastic prize of £40 worth of Lavinia Stamps.

Thanks for looking. Kx

Birthday Style

Hi Everyone

Another card for a colleague!  I just love this stamp but have not used it for ages.

Unfortunately the colours in this photo are really not very true especially the pink flower as it matched the colours of the card perfectly in real life!  I am sure you get the picture.  The image was coloured with copics.

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments and have a good Bank Holiday weekend.  Kx

Cheers!

Hi Everyone

A very big thank you to everyone who visits my blog and leaves me a comment, it really makes my day and encourages me to keep crafting.

Here is another card I have made for a work colleague.

I have used a digital stamp which I printed twice, once on a piece of purple patterned paper to give it some texture for the dress.  For the background I put splodges of Distress ink on a craft mat and spritzed with water then put the card over it and twisted and turned until I achieved the effect shown.  A couple of dies and a few flowers and the card is done.  Hope you like it.

Thanks for looking.  Kx

Challenge 8 - Add Some Glitter

Hi All

August already and I hope you are enjoying the sunshine.  Today is the start of the new Lavinia Stamps Challenge and this month's challenge is "Add some Glitter" - and we all like glitter!  I have chosen to make a Wedding Card, after all who doesn't love a wedding?

I have used the lovely Lavinia Stamps digital "Bride & Groom" which I have coloured using copics with a hint of lilac and then added glitter to the folds of the dress and veil, hope you can see it.  Glitter is quite hard to photograph!  I have also used the lovely words from Lavinia Stamps which fit the bill perfectly.  I have made the card base using the corners from Heartfelt Creations blossom die and touched up the front with a small amount of glitter.  Hope you like it.

With such a great Challenge, why don't you join in, which you can do even if you haven't got a blog as we accept e-mail entries.  Remember you can win £40 worth of Lavinia Stamps, such a great prize!  Enjoy your weekend.  Kx

Blue Lilies

Hi Everyone

What a change in the weather!  Not good, especially if you are visiting the Kent County Show this weekend.  I am busy finishing off my assignment which is due tomorrow.  Before that, I am posting a card I have made for a friend who asked me to make a card for her Mum's 60th.

She was really pleased with the result and |I hope her Mum will like it too.

I used a digital stamp for the lilies which I coloured and decoupaged to create a 3D effect.  To make the card I used the corner die from Heartfelt Creations.  Hope you like it.

Have a good weekend. Kx

Lavinia Stamps Challenge - Summer Colours

Hi Everyone

Hope you are all enjoying the summer.  July is here so we are set for another fantastic month of all your wonderful creations for the Lavinia Stamps Challenge.  Last month Sarah won the great prize of £40 worth of Lavinia Stamps for her fantastic entry, pop over and have a look.

Here is my sample for this month's challenge which is Summer Colours:

For the background I used the following Distress Inks, ripe persimmon, barn door and mustard seed which I swiped on a craft mat and sprayed with water then swiped over the card.  I used picked raspberry and shaded lilac in the same way.  I then used some of the great Zen stamps - there are some fantastic stamps in this range.

Hope you like it - I think you will agree they are definitely summer colours!

Enjoy the rest of the week and good luck with the challenge.  Kx

Handbag & Shoes!

Hi Everyone

Here is a card for one of my colleagues.  She just loves shoes and handbags so when I saw this digital image I just had to have it!  I coloured it to closely resemble the colours of a leopard and was really pleased with the results.  I have to say Tracey was delighted with it, I am sure she was pleased with the Prosecco that accompanied it too!

Have a good weekend. Kx

Lavinia Stamps Challenge 6 - Add some Beads or Gems

Hi Everyone

Another month over and another lucky winner in the Lavinia Stamps Challenge.  Well done Jannine, a very worthy winner.

This month the Challenge is to Add some Beads or Gems and remember the lucky winner will receive £40 worth of Lavinia Stamps - a fantastic prize.  Pop along to the Lavinia Stamps Challenge Blog where you will see the Design Team inspiration and we will look forward to seeing your entries in the Challenge.

Here is my sample for this month:

I started by painting the mdf pen pot with acrylic paints, I used Americana Décor Chalky Finish as they have some really lovely colours.  After drying I stamped using Distress Inks the lovely fairy "Giselle" as she is so detailed and looks really beautiful (on two sides) and Zen grass on the remaining two sides.  I coloured these in using acrylic paints and then added the gemstones to the bubbles Giselle is blowing and at the base of the pot.  I stamped mini leaves up both sides of Giselle and stamped Zen flowers 1, 2 and 3 onto some patterned paper and cut out to add to the pencils.  A gemstone into each centre and hey presto a pen pot complete with pencils.

Hope you like my sample and you get lots of inspiration and join in the Challenge.  Good luck. Kx

Lavinia Stamps Challenge 5 - Birthday Girl

Hi Everyone

This is my example:

I used some Linen card for a change to get a different type of texture and look.  Here I have used the stamp Hop Skip and Jump as my focal image and used Distress Inks, Worn Lipstick and peeled paint for the card.  I then stamped using the really gorgeous trailing vine, it is so versatile especially with the different flowers - a must have - and finally the Fairy Happy Birthday greeting.  Hope you like it!

Lavinia Stamps Challenge 4 - Spring Colours

Hi Everyone

Welcome to my new followers and thank you so much to everyone who takes the time to comment on my work - I very much appreciate your support.

Ok so what happened to March?  I think someone stole it as I cannot believe it is April already, is it just me or is it the same for you?

Another challenge over at Lavinia Stamps Challenge Blog.  First of all congratulations to Sarah Dixon who has won the fabulous prize of £40 worth of Lavinia Stamps.  So come on everyone, join in this month's challenge which is Spring Colours.  If you do not have a blog it is fine as you can send an e-mail entry.

Here is my sample:

For this one I used Distress inks for the background shabby shutters, tumbled glass and spun sugar and used the lovely Gaggle of Geese for the main image and also used birds (a very versatile stamp), grass and lavender to create the scene.

Hope you like it.  Do pop over to the blog and have a look at the wonderful work of the rest of the Design Team, there are some fantastic samples to give you inspiration.

Butterflies

Hi All

I hope you had a good week and your weekend will be great.  So it's official now - it is Spring!  We have had some lovely sunny days in Kent and long may they continue.

Today I am posting a very simple card made with one stamp and distress inks.

I used a Fiskars continuous stamp on top of distress inks which I then mounted on black card to highlight the butterflies.  Such a simple card but very effective.  This one I made into a money wallet.

Thank you for looking at my blog and all for your lovely comments.

Enjoy your day! Kx

Party Time!

Hi

Today I am showing you a card I made for a work colleague for her birthday.  I thought this image was just right.

I coloured the image with my Copics and used some lovely Lili of the Valley papers along with some gorgeous brown/beige and red flowers.  I love flowers on a card for a female and they are popular with the recipients too!

The weather forecast looks good for the weekend here in Kent and I hope it is lovely your way too!  Spring is hopefully on its way.

Have a great weekend. Kx

Lavinia Stamps Challenge Add Something Pink

Another month and another challenge over at Lavinia Stamps.  Remember you can win a huge £40 worth of the scrummy stamps, the only problem you will have is which ones to choose!

Here is my example for this month's challenge, which as the title suggests is "Add Something Pink".

For my card I used the lovely Zen Large Mushroom House which I coloured with my favourite Copics.  I have used several different cutting dies on this card in different colours and also added the sentiment Home Is Where the Heart Is.  I hope you can see the "Add something pink" is the little heart and the butterfly flourish.  I think the Mushroom House is great for a new house card and the great thing is you can colour it in any colours you want.

Remember you can now enter the challenge via e-mail so get your stamps out and join in, there are so many possibilities with this challenge.

Good luck! Kx

Messy Fingers!

Hi - I hope you all had a good week and managed to get some crafting done!

This week I have a card to show you that I made in a workshop run by my best mate Eileen Godwin.  We did this some time ago but I loved it so much I have made quite a few since.

It involved stamping an image using Versamark then using Distress Inks with your fingers!!  It was good fun but I must admit since then I have been using a paintbrush.  The "yellow/green" shade is not one I use very often but I must admit it does look really nice with the purple.

I am off to a workshop tomorrow with Karen Clare and really looking forward to it.

Enjoy the weekend.

Today I would like to show you the card I made my Husband.

I used the lovely Memory Box Die, Heart of Hearts and Marianne Design French Cats.  So cute!

A simple card to make but very versatile.  Hope you like it.

Have a great weekend.  Thanks for stopping by.  Kx

Not the Martini Girl Again?!

Hi Everyone and I hope you are all safe and well on this very wet and windy day.

Ok so I know I have made several cards with this image but isn't that a good thing?  How many of us have bought stamps (and paid a lot for them) and only ever used them once or even (I confess) not used them at all (yet)!

I had to share this one with you as it was for my niece's 21st birthday and she was so pleased with it (and her present of a Mercedes 4x4 experience) that I wanted to post it.

Photography not great as the colours work much nicer together in real life than they do here but I am sure you get the idea.  Here is a close up of the Martini girl.

I promise I will not impose her on you again (well for at least a year) as I cannot think of any more occasions I can use her for the moment!

Thank you so much for popping by and leaving a comment, it really makes my day. Kx

This is a MDF shape which I painted with Lilac Chalk acrylic then stamped over with Fairy Words in Distress Ink Salty Ocean and added a few Miniature Hearts with DI Faded Jeans.  I then stamped the lovely Flower Fairy on with Metallic Purple and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

My second sample:

I blended Distress Inks Faded Jeans and Shaded Lilac for the background of this one after first putting my circle mask down for the moon.  I then stamped with salty ocean with Dandilions2, vine and field grass.  After that I layered with lilac and blue card and added some tulle and a jewel which I mounted on card.

Hope you like my samples and thank you so much for looking.

Lavinia Stamps Challenge #1 Add some glitter

Hi Everyone and a very Happy New Year to you all.

Welcome to all my new followers and sorry I have not been around much but have not had a very good December.  Like a lot of people, I have been unwell for most of it!  Never mind, it is a new year so onwards and upwards.

A New Year and a New Month so welcome to the Lavinia Stamps Challenge and this month the challenge is Add Some Glitter.  Let's face it we all love a bit of glitter so this challenge should not be difficult!  The prize is a whopping £40 worth of Lavinia Stamps, just think of all the lovely stamps you could get for that.

As an added bonus, we are now accepting E-MAIL ENTRIES so for everyone who wants to enter but does not have a blog to showcase their work, you can now enter and share your work with us for a chance of winning the fantastic prize.  So what are you waiting for?

Here is my sample for the Challenge:

It is hard to see the glitter I know but there really is some!  I hope you can see the glitter on the next two.

For my calendar I have used the fabulous Sea-Scapes which are fantastic ready made backgrounds of excellent quality just waiting for you to add the stamps.  For the first section I have used Water Mist and used the gorgeous stamp "Moon Fairy".  I painted the moon and the wings with Stargazers Nova White and a little Quasar blue for the wings.  I then added Glamour Dust to the wings and some Stickles to the stars of the background.

For the second scene I used Summer Haze and the stamps "Fairy Couple" and the words "Fairy dust is like love".

A long post today to make up for my absence so hope you like what I have made.

I hope you will all join in the Challenge - remember it is a fantastic prize.  Look forward to seeing what you have made.

Have a great 2014.  Kx
